@avi:I’m sorry you did not like the film. It is believable enough that the change to feature length might have been a loss in some other films but in this film it worked and was very well done. I saw this film when I was younger and I remember it working as a combination of a couple of different types of movies. In other words Kristen Conley is too pretty to be a servant girl and as I have said before I don’t like the character for the same reasons. I LOVED the fact that this character was depicted in a proper way.I honestly think if Mia were in a less interesting role this film could have been a stinker. Her character, the servant girl was the only interesting one in this film. I would say she was given a much more sympathetic and honest trajectory than the character I knew from the book.I won’t say it was enough to justify the suspension of my disbelief, but there was enough to be able to make up most of the deficit.
I was so anxious to see this movie. But it turned out not to be that good. But I did love the beginning of the film, it was interesting to see the relationship between the three characters. Mia did a great job as an angelic Jane. I suppose I wasn’t expecting the drama in it, so I wasn’t really satisfied with it, but it was a very good film. I recommend it if you want a movie with a good message. You shouldn’t be judged based on looks because you’re a pretty girl.
I did enjoy the film. Its a really nice story with more character development than I would have thought. I think it does a good job in parts and a poor job in others. Obviously it does not follow the book exactly, but I think they do a good job in interpreting and telling the story. I think you’d be hard pressed to find a better actress to play the role of Jane Eyre. The weirdest part of the film is when she starts “talking” to herself. According to Wikipedia, the character was voiced by Mia Wasikowska, but I don’t think she helped much. If anything Jane Eyre (her self) sounds like an old man. What a bad thing to do to an actress.
