This proposal is submitted for the Contract for the Producer to Elden Ring of Konami Corporation.

Herein, Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. proposes the following:

1. Project summary/scope:
Elden Ring is a fantasy role-playing game that combines the features of action RPG, dungeon crawler, and simulation RPG.

2. Game concept and main game features:
The main game concept is to bring a game for those who like to adventure to the world with a vast and delicious prospect that never ends.
The main features will be explained in the detailed design document.

3. Contract terms:
The Contract for the Producer includes:
Confidentiality agreement
Sales agreement for the Producer
Licensing agreement for the Producer
Licensing agreement for the Producer

4. Interested parties:

Producer – Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc.
Note: The term “Producer” means that one person is in charge of the game development and creation, who receives sales, royalties, and other remunerations under the game and its materials.

Term: From the contract signing through approximately one month before the game is officially announced.

Receive: 25 percent of royalties from sales of the game and its materials and 20 percent of royalties from sales of the game under Konami’s brand.
10 percent of royalties from sales of other games.

Obligations:

(A) Payment: 300,000 yen.

(B) Confidential information provision: Produce only games that can be played in digital contents for mobile terminals, consoles, and personal computers, such as action RPG, simulation RPG, and dungeon crawler, and must not create or develop content other than those games.

A simple skill-based system would likely eliminate the need for min and max, while a wide variety of choices can be made in the skill system (which is added to three free options).

The setting is also simple enough to explain, and yet its two opposing concepts are both intriguing. One of them is dark and grim, and the other one is bright and happy. While the fantasy elements may be the majority, the feeling of unnatural magic invades the mundane world. If you are a fan of the Cthulhu Mythos and J-Horror, this is probably the genre for you.

Although the theme is simple, it provides the player with several opportunities and choices. The first of the seven in-game characters is the Fae, the leader of the Lumina family. A play style of your choice cannot be affected by your skill or luck, but it is affected by the game’s map and various drops.
