after following the sword of light into space, goku finds that it is possessed by a dark spirit. goku is then referred to as dragon god. he fights the dark spirit until finally being defeated. when the fierce warrior is distracted, the dragon’s black form consumes him. when goku finally regains his composure, he confronts the evil god. goku challenges the legendary warrior to fight again, but the legendary warrior declined. goku tries to show the legendary warrior his true power by eating half of the dragon’s soul. goku is transformed into a super saiyan god which still retained his original mindset, enabling him to defeat his opponent in seconds. gohan becomes overjoyed that goku was saved. goku leaves the palace and goes outside where he meets a ginyu alien. ginyu are a race of aliens that fuse into a larger composite body. goku fights them, but is defeated. ginyu were originally a race of living rocks that fused into larger composite beings during a space exploration. goku and ginyu have had several encounters throughout the series; the last time they met goku simply called them “insignificant” and left them alone after the ginyu explained that goku was stronger than him. however, the ginyu still revere goku as a deity and would even risk their lives for him. upon meeting goku, ginyu gohan, ginyu tien, and ginyu vegeta fusion into a massive composite body called ginyu android #17. ginyu android #17 easily defeats goku, but goku breaks the ginyu android #17’s neck, and then quickly fuses with the other ginyu, changing back into his typical state. goku’s friend in the world of vegeta, the ginyu, fuse into a composite form called ginyu android #18. 18 easily outfights goku, eliminating goku’s super saiyan.

in the series, goku continues to travel to various planets in search of the dragon balls. on earth, gohan and his two friends go to a planet called namek to avenge their defeat by murdering beerus and his army. when they find beerus, he informs them of the reason for their defeat.
after defeating goku, frieza uses the energy from the attack to regain his full power and becomes super saiyan god. goku wakes up and realizes what he has done. frieza is now slightly more powerful than goku and sends him through a portal and into the future. unfortunately, they arrive before the battle of gods and find out that vegeta went to see piccolo and gohan, however, piccolo was already dead.
they see goku and bulma in the vicinity, but vegeta and gohan have no idea where they are. frieza tries to blast them, but goku avoids him. after several blasts from frieza’s hands, goku uses a flash kick to push frieza in the wrong direction, distracting him. gohan suddenly appears to blast frieza with a kamehameha. vegeta arrives to assist him and goku knocks frieza away, letting gohan blast him, causing frieza to fall into the ocean, where he is disintegrated. goku and vegeta then discuss what they should do next. [68] goku decides that they are going to have a ceremony with bulma to find out if they are having a baby. they find bulma in bed, wrapped up in sheets with an infant in her arms, screaming that she can’t have a baby.
goku, vegeta, and bulma leave namek, and goku says that he will continue to search for his grandfather’s other dragon balls. in a nearby city, they help a small child named ai being bothered by three strange men. goku fights the three men one by one with them losing before bulma gives the men the idea to get on a rocket. on earth, goku starts seeing the spaceship in his dreams. eventually the spaceship is shown to be heading to piccolo’s. goku helps bulma, gohan, and trunks escape from the spaceship by using his kamehameha on the floating spaceship. goku, trunks, and gohan land in the woods, when a farmer attacks them with his energy. in order to test the farmer’s power, goku, vegeta, gohan, trunks, and piccolo- [139] would make separate appearances, during the same time that separate, happening simultaneously. this was a parody of dragon ball super movie!
