The original AutoCAD was created in 1975 by mathematician and engineer Mike Sousa in a Xerox PARC lab in Palo Alto, California. The program was later purchased by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1975 and renamed MIT-licensed CAD. It was used at MIT for documentation of the ‘Eco-330′ aluminum rolling mill. During the previous update, we mentioned that we had planned to add support for importing text from the web, similar to the way other CAD software import text files. We’re happy to announce that we’ve successfully implemented text import into AutoCAD with a few important improvements.
The user interface has been completely revised and, in addition to importing text, you can now markup text in both text and annotation layers.
The new text markup functionality is described below:
