The original version of Shadowrun Hong Kong did not offer enough of the unique elements that the franchise is known for. The base game offered players the ability to play an entire campaign, but it was lacking in addicting content. In order to fix this issue, Harebrained Schemes has incorporated more content to the DLC. The free add-on Hong Kong: Year Zero adds additional content to the base gameplay as well as a new story mode in the form of the Year Zero missions. Additionally, the original game’s multiplayer mode has been expanded to include a second campaign in addition to a new solo campaign. The new campaign will play out on the two different islands, and will be composed of custom assets created by Harebrained Schemes. The main additions in the DLC are an expansion pack to the base gameplay called Hong Kong: Year Zero. This bonus content provides a new story mission that parallels the events of Year Zero, while adding new citizens, quests, and enemy encounters. The Year Zero mission can only be accessed after completing the original game. The release of Hong Kong: Year Zero is not required to be able to access the additional content provided in Hong Kong: Extended Edition.
About the Game:
One of the first, if not the first, great tactical roleplaying games in video game history, the original Shadowrun expanded the rules of the popular Cyberpunk world and played with them in ways no other game had before. The original 1996 release of Shadowrun popularized tactical combat and the R-rating for role-playing. Years later, fans would get further understanding of cybernetics and video games thanks to the game’s well-received sequel, Shadowrun Returns.
Fast forward to the present, and Harebrained Schemes is taking on the franchise with their brand new title, Shadowrun: Hong Kong. The studio has brought their familiar crafting system, “Suitcase” levels, and push-your-luck dice rolls to the table and brought it to Hong Kong, an alternate timeline of China in 2012. Players will assume the role of a cyber-thief who is working with the US Navy to overthrow the Chinese government.
With the release of the beta and a successful KickStarter campaign, Shadowrun: Hong Kong is set to be another hit for fans of Harebrained Schemes and tactical RPG’s.

Playable DLC and Steam Workshop Support plus 2 brand-new maps
