They are lying. These guys have been lying from day one. To me it seems pretty obvious that they’ve been lying about this. Uplay works. When it is used correctly it doesn’t load a stolen Uplay profile from anyone’s computer when it tries to connect. Doesn’t work when you try to take a screenshot, doesn’t work when you try to kill the game. Has problems with long pauses, has problems with DX10 games, has problems with big games, etc, etc. Oh, and it seems to be more complicated than it should be. They’re lying about Uplay and were lying when they said that they’d fix it. So far they’ve said nothing and I don’t expect anything to be said. I don’t say this because the cracked version is working. I say this because I have a hard time swallowing the claim that their DRM system is more complex than the DRM they’ve had in every game thus far. And the update a month and a half before launch is bullshit and I’d really expect them to come up with something a bit more convincing than that.
So I met the man who created Uplay, and, well, he seemed like an alright guy, given the circumstances. I assume he was an average bloke who doesn’t get to sit around and drink free booze.
