Telerik UI For WinForms R1 2018 SP1 (version 2018.1.220) Retail
The.NET API has changed a fair bit over the last few versions of.NET. This has been a boon for WinForms developers as Microsoft has been working to get things right for WinForms developers. In version 2017.1 it introduced the WinForms UI designer, and in version 2018.0 it introduced Telerik UI for WPF. I’m now using the designer in VS2017 to create the UI of a WPF application.
The WinForms UI has been built with good performance in mind. It is designed to work with large amounts of data and to manage large amounts of complex form data. We have used the WinForms UI over a wide variety of data including text, images, word documents, video, graphics, database records, etc.
Yes. WPF is over your hill. There are better things. It may be another year before you cant use it anymore. Probably. WPF is just a sad ex-“dead” tech that Microsoft gave lip service to that is driving a rapid decline as its framework which is why it looks the same as it did in 2003. This was years before the first android tablet came out which is fine cause not only is it a cheap method to develop software but its actually doing that now. You can knock WPF, but can I complain about that? I just get plain old Windows menues on my hardware. I hope to be able to still use it for a while. I use C# and winforms for everything, but MCSHARP (in Windows 10) handles everything else. Winforms is a good choice. If you want to make money, then you make an app. Its that simple. You need the ability to make money when your app is still using winforms and you need to be able to stop supporting new versions of Windows.
