Kirisun Programming Software Pt8100 12
i am having a problem with the pt8100 programming. i have all the programs and patches for the pt8100 and can connect the radio to the computer but when i try to program it i receive the error fre2bcd error!. the programming software then quits. i have tried this with multiple programming cables, multiple pt8100 radios and on different computers. what is the cause of this and how do i resolve this as i do not get any response from kirisun for technical support.
when programming certain models of two way radios purchased from buy two way radios, some of our customers, particularly those who are ham radio operators, prefer chirp in lieu of the programming software provided by the radio manufacturer. this preference for chirp is largely due to a couple of reasons. chirp is often easier to understand and use than the original programming software from the manufacturers of certain radios, particularly those in china. the use of chirp also often minimizes or even eliminates the need to install and use a different programming application for each individual product when using a mix of of different radios.
i am using the ksp8100 v1.25 software and i’ve been trying to program my pt8100 12 for several hours now. i’m at the last step in the program where the radio is set to receive and the computer is connected. when i click the button to program the radio, it shows the message “connection failed” and the programming software quits. i have tried all different programming cables, all different pt8100 radios and on different computers. i’ve also tried using a different version of the software. i have tried to run the program as administrator. i have also tried turning off the firewall and antivirus. i’ve tried turning off the computer and only turning it back on after the radio has been programmed. i’ve tried using different ports to connect the radio to the computer and have even changed the radio’s mode to “passive” and “active” but nothing seems to work. i’m not sure what to do next as i cannot find any support for this model. any help would be greatly appreciated.

on the upper right hand side of the menu, youll see a box that says advanced, click on this to access the advanced programming options. here you can set the repeater to broadcast two consecutive dmr calls at the same time. this is good for when two repeaters are sharing a frequency and repeaters wont have the time to acknowledge each other.
so now that you have a better idea of what you are doing, you can proceed to write your software. the software is for windows xp, vista, 7 and 8, so if youre running an older version you will need to upgrade the software to the current version. again, click setup on the top menu and select software update to get to the correct page for the current version of windows.
youll be looking for the kirisun kpg-174d software update option. this is the generic kirisun software update. if you go to the kirisun kpg-174d – windows xp section you will see a link that says kpg-174d software update.
click that link and the software will automatically start updating. this usually takes about 5 minutes. when the update has finished you will see a message that the software is now up to date. click ok to continue.
