I have three components in the index.js. When the props change in the select.component.js it calls the updateMessage(). The problem is the error message is displayed if I am not accessing the component (there is not an error if it is). And it is only displayed in the console.
The server is going through the request, but there is an error for the app state. I think is due to the error message, but I don’t understand why the updateMessage() method is not working.

“The Lumber Party” is the 26th episode of The Flintstones television show and the 222nd episode overall. It was originally broadcast on January 30, 1970. In the storyline, the Lumbermen break through the cellar wall of the Flintstone house, and break into the bedroom in the cellar where Fred and Wilma are staying.
It was the first of several episodes in which the characters marries the caterer/waitress/waitron, and Wilma’s maid Cleopatra Jones (here portrayed by Geraldine McRaney) becomes an incidental rather than one of the main characters.

Plot synopsis
Part 1
Wilma and Fred are upset that they are going to their beach house for an entire week without company. While channel surfing, Wilma and Fred find the Broom-Time Hour, where Fred watches Betty Rubble and Little Ricky sprint away from a pair of teenagers and find a nest of baby dinosaur eggs. The show then jumps forward, and The Lumbermen are shown breaking into the nearby cave and uncovering the cavemen. While the cavemen sing a “Monster Mash” song, Fred becomes the first one to fall asleep. The cavemen then decide to send the actors who portray them back in time to save Dino cavemen leader on the B-track, and go on to remind Fred and Wilma of their own past. When Fred and Wilma then say that they want to go to the beach house, the cavemen ask them to let them share their home for the weekend. The cavemen then summon the dinosaur eggs, telling them to hatch into dinosaurs and help them reach their “birthplace”, which is the cavemen’s cave.
Part 2
Fred and Wilma see each other as they arrive at the beach and begin to make a plan, where Fred wants to build a raft and surf out the next day using a pontoon boat and Wilma wants to sleep. Wilma then gets an idea to “civilize” the cavemen and asks them to pretend to be government inspectors and throw them in jail.
