The Long Nights Of The Dead 2 sets a high bar for its sequel, upping the ante and again showcasing its adeptness at writing horror with its latest release. If youre a fan of Clive Barker, Charles de Lint,or any of the other authors who produce this genre of dark fiction, youll likely love the upcoming The Long Nights Of The Dead 2. Its a sequel to the 2013 film The Long Night Of The Dead, and much of its success can be traced back to the first film. While both films are horror films, this follow-up is much more creature-heavy, and has an impressive roster of similar horror characters in each film. The film centers around a cult, a traveling carnival, a beleaguered family, and a family of suburban monsters. The characters in each film are linked either by direct experiences, or in the case of siblings, by the distant legacy of their dead parents. We ll talk more about the characters in The Long Night Of The Dead 2 here, but first we should take a look at the main character, Beth, and her husband, Adam, played by co-stars Jesse Moss and Efram Grandiflori, respectively. After Jess died, Melody escaped from the basement. John Smith learns Jesss relationship to Samuel. John Smith is shown holding Jesss body. A newscaster claims that the men who kidnapped Jess will be detained in the city. Meanwhile, Charlie is shown riding the subway to the Visser and discovers the city is locked down. People are being led to an underground facility in the sewers. A man walks by them and asks if they are there to stop the Visser. They hurry up to the facility.
The group arrives at the underground room. The man lets them in and allows them to search. The man tells them they will find what they are looking for. They open the first door and discover a dead body. They encounter a room with 50 children in it, all dead.
The second room is similar to the first. The man shows them the room with the dead bodies, but theyre not dead. In the next room, there is a Visser. He is standing on a platform, invisible to those who cannot see the door behind him. They hear a child crying and see a door with a doorbell in it. The Visser says theyre going in. He blocks them from exiting the room. He brings in the children and kills them. He tells John Smith his time is running out. John Smith turns around and the Visser bites his neck.
The man tries to help, but the Visser says he doesnt want their help. John Smith turns into smoke and disappears. The man looks around and has no idea what to do. He rings the doorbell, hoping someone will answer. The Visser watches the man and is perplexed at the noise, before changing his mind. He opens the door to let the men out, revealing the room with the children.
