The FerricTDS VST plugin was developed to be a tape dynamics simulator.
Inspired by the smooth dynamic shaping capabilities of some high-end reel-to-reel
tape recorders, this plug-in simulates three of the most distinctive and much appreci-
ated sonic effects generated by these devices:
DYNAMICS – gently shaping the overall dynamic response
SATURATION – adding extra harmonic-related content
LIMITING – controlling peak performance
Other rather ugly side effects, such as tremendous phase and frequency alterations,
wow and flutter, noise and crosstalk and others, are not included in this simulation.

FerricTDS License Key

Most of the parameters in the following graphic were explained in the last doc-
ument of the VST format, but a few specific details still need clarifying:
Arms – These represent the two input and output arms of the DAW,
the ‘in’ part of the VST diagram represents the input and output of the
Active Audio Unit, the ‘in’ and ‘out’ parts of the diagram shows
the input and output parts of the plugin.
Freq0 – The frequency at which the low-pass and high-pass filters are
set to cut the input signal.
Freq1 – The frequency at which the high-pass filter cuts the input
signal.
On – The parameter ‘On’ determines whether the high-pass filter is
enabled or not.
THR – The input level of the high-pass filter.
TR – The input level of the low-pass filter.
Uses – This parameter is not used in the diagram above, but it’s still
relevant for the use of this plugin. It defines the maximum attenu-
tion setting (meaning the ratio of output level to input level) of
this unit.
FEEDTRANS A.M. FACTOR (or “Feedback Factor”)
The factor tells how much more the output of this VST plugin is atten-
uated by the filter effect than the input signal. This is basically a
gain factor and it’s used to control the high-pass filter.
If this value is set to a too low number, the output signal will
become attenuated too much by the high-pass filter and the
high-pass filter will completely drop the signal. If the value is
set to too high, the filter will not be able to attenuate the
signal enough and the output signal will be distorted by the
high-pass filter.
A value of 1.0 produces no distortion.
FEEDTRANS L.O. FACTOR (or “Feedback Factor”)
The factor tells how much more the input signal is attenuated
by the low-pass filter than the output signal. This is basically a
gain factor and it’s used to control the low-pass filter.
