Services are always started with the priority value of DEFAULT_PRIORITY. However, you can override the priority of a service by calling startService( Intent ) with a higher priority for a service. For example, you can set a priority of less than 1000 if your service needs to run in the background to preserve battery life. Otherwise, a higher priority value is for services that need the higher priority.
