He murders a lady who pleads for mercy. He kills her during a plea bargain, as she gives testimony against two of his associates. He rapes a young girl as she returns to her village (he has all the villagers find her, etc.). He throws people off of a bridge and then has them reassemble and be found to still be alive. There are piles of severed heads on the ground. He sends a condemned man to die in a manner contrary to Roman law, and then kills him when he (the condemned man) survives. He gets his sister (who’s his queen/mistress) to eat live animals. When she asks why, he tells her, “Because it will make you bleed.” He keeps women around for as long as he wants and only lets go when he decides they’re too old. He demands all of his ambassadors be executed, even though they’ve been faithful. This is what this movie’s got. (A special mention goes to the “real” Caligula when he murders his sister in the end, it’s really long. It begins with him telling her he loves her, then he puts a spear in her back and cuts her up while telling her that he will never love her again.)
