The Valhalla Hills DLC for Valhalla Hills contains two new areas. The Fire Mountains are the second area of this DLC.
This expansion introduces a new landscape type: volcanic mountain terrain.
Volcanoes are also accompanied by new mechanics, with one exception: tidal action. It is described in detail in the manual.
In the Fire Mountains, the land is only worth exploiting if you have access to the resources (steam, sulfur, coal, iron, gold and silver).
The area is accessible through a new strategic port (instead of the old one). The port is used to import resources and export them to towns.
The steam district is built around the port (like a chain) and can be upgraded.
The new spell ‘Volcanic Zone’ can be used to activate volcanoes.
The terrain in the Fire Mountains is perfect for building settlements and for mining.
At the moment, we have not included in the game an urban template that will allow you to build any kind of settlement.
The manual will describe in more detail all the necessary mechanic.
Finally, a new peculiar town spawned in the Fire Mountains: Derelict Town.
It is the ruins of a real abandoned town – in this case, a local sulfur mine.
