Broken Glas Uses Windows AIK, the only Legal way to make a Live CD version of Windows 7, even if you don’t own it! How, you may ask?
Well, Aik was made for programers who needed to test if there apps would work on Win7, and for making customizable Win7 installs.
So basicly AIK is the “bare bones” of Windows 7. It has no “Windows Explorer” or startmenu, so windows gives it away for free!
But.. with a few open source apps, we can replace what Microsoft removed, insted of Internet Explorer, we can have Firefox, and who needs Windows Media Palyer, when VLC supports like 8x more video formats.

What’s New In Broken Glass?
Broken Glass takes the core AIK tools and creates a LiveCD version of Windows 7.
Broken Glass is built from a script, using the most recent version of the aik_tools, brokenglass/script.py.
You can run Broken Glass without any changes, just issue the following command:
$ brokenglass install
After you compile Broken Glass, you will need to make a copy of the script, and for this, i suggest using the Windows GUI method.
Broken Glass source codes, files and scripts are supplied.
This is the files you will need to compile Broken Glass:
Broken Glass uses the files in the brokenglass/core folder.
There’s a README.txt file, which includes a bit of info about the script and what it really does.
And also Broken Glass comes with an installation script, called brokenglass/install.py, which installs brokenglass and a bunch of files to a directory, in the same way the iso installtion does.
These files are the only things broken glass needs, and they’re the only things the script installs.
So if you have the iso from which you’ve just finished making a bootable livecd, it’s time to have some fun.
Please read the README file, the install file, or even the wiki in the docs folder, cause there’s some useful info there!
The basic script looks like this:
brokenglass/install.py install
This will install broken glass to C:\brokenglass\, and will create a hidden directory “brokenglass/brokenglass/”.
You can always go to that directory and change the script again.
And you can run the script yourself, but if you want to, you can add the –install command like this:
$ brokenglass install –install
Broken Glass is only a Windows AIK installation tool.
But it’s complete and useful, as all Windows AIK tools are.
So you may have a copy of Windows 7 around, but you never know if you need it.
So, why not create a broken glass.iso (and some interesting boot sector files), and see if it works on the machine you have?
Broken Glass is designed to run on “Good Old Linux” based, or x86 based, systems.
However, you might get problems running Broken Glass on other platforms, as its main working app is Windows AIK, so if your system doesn’t have it,
