ah. i was never able to get all the portraits unlocked in english. seems it’s the only language that requires the dlcs. i don’t think it’s the same on other languages. i’m pretty sure you can collect them all in french.

according to ubisoft in the wiki, you can collect all the portraits in english. it was the same for me. so i think this is the reason why the portraits are locked in english. i’m not sure which portraits are unlocked which means it might be that the portraits aren’t officially unlocked. if it’s not the case, you can collect all portraits in english even if you’re playing the english version of the game.

did you have to upgrade to use the season 4 pass? i didn’t have to. i just got the season 4 pass along with the gold edition. i don’t think that you would have to upgrade to use the dlcs. the dlcs will unlock automatically if you have the season 4 pass.

hi – in case anyone is still having problems with achievements not being unlocked, here is a fix: close the game completely, start it again, and make sure to check the ‘achievements’ tab and not ‘my games’ tab. hope this helps!

The new Anno 1800 Update will officially launch on January 22 and will include our first major DLC, including the new island, island specific buildings and game mechanics. New users and our existing community will be able to purchase the complete season pass ($24.99) on Ubisoft Connect or the Epic Games Store, starting on December 13. The DLC will be available for all existing players in the new year.
In addition to the Season 4 Pass, which also includes access to Season 3, we are also launching two new DLC at the same time to give existing Anno 1800 players some additional entertainment for the holidays.
Secondly, the Suez Gold Edition – a new standard edition – is available for $24.99 in North America, $29.99 in Europe, $34.99 in South America and $24.99 in Africa. The Suez edition includes the currently available DLC content, as well as the complete season pass and all future downloadable content, and will grant players one bonus – either an Anno 1800-themed mug or a train that travels across Anno 1800s fictional world. The train can be used to travel from any of the islands that have been populated in the current season, and can be used to transport workers and equipment.
We also wanted to mention the recently revealed Anniversary edition of Anno 1800, which includes a newly designed controller cover, a diorama of the original Anno game, a poster and the game’s soundtrack.
This is a first of its kind update. Anno 1800 is a game built by the community, for the community. We often have to make difficult decisions about updates and features, and this update is no exception. However, we believe that the changes we’re making are the right ones – and we appreciate the patience of our existing and new players.
