A layer mask can also be converted to a clipping mask. Transparency in a layer mask is hidden. A layer mask cannot contain transparency. The easiest way to convert a layer mask to a clipping mask is to select Layer > Layer Mask > Convert to Clipping Mask. You can then click the Check button to confirm, or the Clear button to cancel.
