how to use the vpn client plug-in?
- install the softether vpn client. if you want to connect to a vpn gateway server that implements openvpn, you need to install openvpn client and openvpn server, both of which you can also do by softether vpn server. it will install the openvpn client plug-in to the client.
- install the vpn client plug-in on the vpn gateway server.
- connect the softether vpn client to the vpn gateway server, if you have already connected the softether vpn client to the host network.
- if you have not connected the softether vpn client to the host network yet, install and run the softether vpn client, then connect the client to the vpn gateway server.
- configure the softether vpn client, if you have not set the ip of the vpn gateway server yet.
- click the vpn client plugin icon, and you will see the gui window of the vpn client plug-in. there is a new virtual network adapter (called “vpn adapter” in the gui window) on the network icon on the left. to know how to configure vpn adapter, please refer to the softether vpn manual.
- if you want to establish a vpn tunnel to the vpn gateway server from the client, just add the softether vpn client to the host network, and you will be connected to the vpn gateway server.
