You will now be doing the second part of the installation. This is where the software actually installs on your computer. You will see the details of the installation as it goes along. Following the instructions will cause the installation to complete.

Adobe announced Sketch for iPad at I/O shortly after the release of its Mac version. At the time it seemed like a decision aimed to convert some users of former competitor and Mac standard-bearer, App Inventor, to the iPad. Sketch’s introduction of a real editor, ability to buy stock art and a new price, all on the iPad, gave credence to that prediction.
Four years later the tool looks a lot like App Inventor did when it first appeared. I’m not referring just to the headline features, but the enormous number of similar features and constraints.
During the time it took to write this app review, I tried to find an opportunity to explore a feature that clearly still needs more development, the ability to publish custom assets within the app. If your team is a creative team or you enjoy providing quality art assets to your customers, this is a feature that will be enhanced and improved in future releases.
The Sketch app is a collaboration tool. It is also a digital asset store. You work in the app, and your collaborators are off-line. While there is a variety of collaboration tools available, Sketch exceeds them all in quality.
One of the aspects of Sketch that I appreciate the most is its simplicity. You create the project, define collaborators, assign tasks, and assign assets. It’s one thing to create a collaborative assignment, but it’s another thing entirely to create an asset that the team can use, like a design that will need to be used in advertising or a logo that needs to be reproduced for marketing. One of the lesser-known features of Elements is a full version of Adobe Photoshop’s Content-Aware Sharpen tool. With it, you can sharpen or soften areas of a photo as if you were the lens that snapped the photo. (You can, of course, sharpen all areas of a photo with the image adjustment controls in Elements.)
It is a great feature to have in Elements, but it does have a couple of drawbacks. Content-Aware Sharpen can’t be turned off. This means you lose the chance to use the tool on photos with lots of distracting elements. The tool also doesn’t sharpen text, so you don’t get much pixel-level sharpening for text on photos.
The layers panel in Elements is a fine place to store layers of images you plan to use in a project. Elements also keeps a history of your changes to layers in case you want to go back through a project and tweak something. The History palette displays this information so you can click a check box to lock or unlock layers.
Adobe Photoshop’s brushes have been around for years, but the number of brushes available in the free version of Elements has steadily increased. Elements now comes with more than 1,500 free brushes. In the free version, you can use them in editing live, but Elements doesn’t provide a way to save these brushes as your own.
Adobe Photoshop is known for its convert to new type feature, but this has its limits. Not all images can be converted to a new type, such as JPEG photos. Elements doesn’t have this problem, however.
For those who are familiar with Photoshop, the software has changed quite a bit. Its keyboard shortcuts have moved from the Edit menu to the FILE menu. The cloning tool that once lived on the float panel is now available directly on the Tool panel.
When video features are included, they are always deeply integrated into the rest of Photoshop and can look both natural and slick. For features versus price, be sure to factor in the cost of the other included tools such as Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Stock.
