Great Pyramid VR is a free educational application which introduces the user to the Great Pyramid in Giza, Egypt. It is a 3D walk-through with voiceover and provides an in-depth look into the real 3D model, the unique 3D inner space and the relieving chambers.
The Great Pyramid VR is free, because it is not about selling stuff, it is about teaching people and spreading the educational idea of VR technology to preserve Cultural Heritage.
Why is it developed?
As a student of Egyptology I needed something to explore these sites and gain first-hand experience without much cost (besides the cost of a VR headset, which is quite cheap). Great Pyramid VR allows me to learn about this site and how it was built.
Also I want to share with everyone the incredible feeling of this place which compels many people to visit it.

In one of his legendary columns for Bouldering Magazine a few years back, UK boulderer Peter Liepa (Ka2ufb) took aim at the mainstream bouldering comp model. ‘These “well balanced” big wall comps are never balanced,’ he railed. ‘The judging criteria are largely subjective, based on degree of difficulty. Additionally the am-are-eee-mm-maaaaah of the audience dictates how the numbers go, more people will be anxious about their rank on the comp chart, and quicker speeds are constantly exploited.’
Peter’s not wrong, though he glosses over the most interesting part of the equation: the audience. You can put up 30 problem boulder problems, but sometimes it’s the super-cool easy things that attract the A or B rounds, and a lot of B rounds will at some point include a rookie to the comp. Race any seed of an idea down like the gentle breeze and you’re sure to blow yourself up with a rank of 17, but the truth is, some of those boulderers who make it to round 40 have climbed just as hard as any of the other climbers. As for the spectrum of actual problems, tens of thousands give us a range of difficulty, but we still need a vocabulary that explains it, because it’s too subjective and too variable to fit into size classes. It’s why we need comps, even if they’re the occasional inconvenience for climbers that are just trying to have a good time. The most-used comp method for bouldering is divided by size on a V-Grade 50/50, but we should be expanding the elite divisions even further to make it less predictable and always have fun competitions.
This is about more than just saving a round, right? We want to scale our bouldering to the rest of the climbing world and I think a lot of us would agree that it’s way too narrowly focused on strength-based problem difficulty, that a combination of activity levels and technical difficulty is a much more accurate descriptor of one style of climbing over another.
