the jamvox iii is one of those products that has actually improved on a previous version. you may notice that that rza’s black dragon is different from the sample that he released on his first single on wu-tang. but now that the sample pack exists we are not only able to download it for free but can actually use and edit it.

guitar blues is a freeware guitar tablature editor for windows pc’s that supports windows operating systems. the guitar blues product can convert guitar tab with lyrics, embedded guitar notation, chords, rhythms, and even bass, to a standard tablature format. you can also import or export into guitar blues all instruments of your choice.

this songs has some really good parts and i can feel that it is really good, but i have only ten days of practice on guitar and that’s it. i want to find out if jamvox can make better guitar parts than my good old mp3 player.

one really nice thing about jamvox iii is that the beatles and john lennon’s rhythm guitar isn’t overpowered by the instrumental sounds that are created. if you have the midi version of the beatles’ rythm guitar track (i.e., john’s), it is possible to play a rhythm part using jamvox and then switch to the standard vocal tracks to complete the backing track with just a little guitar processing. the goal is to make a backup vocal track for your next session.
like i said above, jamvox iii doesn’t work perfectly. the open gus mixer sounds very different than the cubase se mixer. that’s a limitation of the jamvox port. i’d like to see the two products merge at some point. i plan to make some videos in the near future to show exactly how this is done.
note: pc-b200x and pc-b100x are series of 24-bit digital to analogue converters (dacs) based on the x-fi sound cards. in particular i am interested in the x-fi x-fi eax44.2 usb dac. this card has been on the market for a couple years now and has excellent sound reproduction. in fact, the pc-b200x with its onboard amplifier is just about the best dac i have ever heard. i do a lot of work on the pc-b200x and it is so good, that i’ve just ordered another one!
i would encourage guitar players to give jamvox iii a shot, especially if you own an akai apc 40. even if you have a newer model, i would recommend that you upgrade to the latest version of akai’s apc 40 since their software upgrades have been quite buggy. upgrading jamvox iii should be easy. just download the latest version of jamvox iii, restart your computer and then load the downloaded software driver. on your computer, open up jamvox 3 and watch a video tutorial to get you started. you can also read a tutorial i put together on my blog.
