it’s only been since 2017, but okcupid is still my favorite dating app because it’s got what everyone is looking for on dating apps (objective algorithmic matchmaking, free service, and a pretty strong anti-vanity angle), but it’s changed up its presentation. okcupid recently brought in a new design that is bold and very appealing to new users. i’m not a fan of the floating notifications that appeared on mobile earlier, but i think the overall design is pretty cool. the app is free, but you’ll need to upgrade to a paid subscription to unlock chat and the ability to message others privately.

the app is incredibly easy to sign up with a mobile number and get started. i’m a big fan of tinder, but find that the older version of the app can be finicky. i find that the newer version does a good job of avoiding this issue, so that’s what i prefer.
