Beat Saber is an action-adventure rhythm game developed by Four Dots, published by Saber Interactive, released on 27 January 2017 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. A “Beat Saber: Chiptune Edition” standalone edition featuring new songs was released for macOS and Linux platforms on 21 February 2017 and for Nintendo Switch on 26 July 2017. A Nintendo Switch ProController Edition was announced in April 2018 and released on 18 July 2018.
In Beat Saber, players use a 3D-printed saber while hitting spinning discs (“beats”) of different shapes on the other side with different colored and shaped sabers to match the song’s note patterns and earn points.
