Hi all, I am happy to report that I have been successful in getting BatteryBar working on my new x220 netbook (finally) and with my new extended battery that I bought.
The program was originally only one exe file. I updated it to v3.6.6 with the following files:
Current version is 3.6.6. The registration key works fine.
Thanks to everyone who submitted ideas on how to get it working properly.
The only problem I had is that now when a computer wakes from sleep the battery icon stays on, even if I click off the ‘wake’ computer.
This is NOT a real problem because since I use the batterybar to monitor network use (dns lookups, game check, uploads, download, movies, etc) that the program is actually not running when I am connected to my wireless router. I just click a mouse button to switch it off and on, depending on the current use.
I am trying to find out if there is an option to remove the ‘on the battery’ icon at all.
I am still in the’search’ mode and would appreciate any ideas.
The process is initiated by double clicking on the exe file and this event opens the’main screen’. After selection of ‘install’, the standard installation process occurs.
After installation I followed the instructions regarding that I need to add the key to the registry, ie:
I then checked and added the key (I found the registry value in the file: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Appname\Setup\Startup)
The program loaded successfully without any error message or dialog box.
I then loaded the exe file from the directory where I installed it and again followed the instructions to add the key to the registry (same process)
I had to terminate the keygen process and restart the program again, so that it could load the updated registry key.
My question is, do I need to restart the computer for it to load the key?
Or can I just do a little’reboot’ on the exe that I’m loading.
I did try a’reboot’ from the exe but no success.
I have’reboot’ enabled, but no message comes up about a’shut down’ or ‘power off’.
