Director leads this film with the name of Guru Dutt who shot dialogues, screenplay, and direction with complete trash. Initially, the director is well experienced and can create some good stuff, but after that he loses touch with his previous writing genius. Apart from that, he uses all idiotic ways to expose the softer side and disguise the intimacy in his films with external gimmick, which in this context is stringed bells and some boring kissing scene. Just one thing I can say about the director’s low calibre in all sort of areas. Bowing in front of your heroes and acting through their dialogue is just embarrassing. Second director of this film is Anil Sharma who once had indie hit film, ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’, with a great cast, but he coupled it with three very basic aspects. 1. He doesn’t know how to edit. 2. He doesn’t know how to end the script. 3. He doesn’t know how to maintain continuity. The story of the film itself is very simple. It is about a champion tennis player, who plays tennis to earn more money to pay off the vehicle he has lost his family in an accident. He doesn’t select this profession, but it is his only earning aspect by chance. Because of tennis, he overcomes many personal adversities in his life and does many illegal activities like fixing the match.
There is honest comic premise, but the film is too dull and breakneck to laugh at it. You get to know what the story is by one-two questions tries you put it plainly. If you look smart, you’ll answer it in one shot, but most of the people won’t. Villain of the film is so lame that some prologue scene could be good for 10 minutes film. In the middle of the film, he changes his ways and acts like a bad guy to get some punishment which is most funny. All the scenes in which he acts like a good guy are very boring. Film makes you feel like laughing at him. Time wasters. Would not recommend to watch.
