Problem When Loading a View
I seem to be having a very frustrating time with this and I am hoping someone can tell me what is going on.
I have an application that I am testing on an iPhone 3G. The app works fine but something is going wrong when I try to load a 3rd party view from a nib file. The problem is this:
When I launch the app from the AppDelegate, load the MainViewController, and then call:
MainViewController *mvc = [[MainViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@”MainView” bundle:nil];
the app works fine. When I load the MainViewController nib in landscape orientation, the view appears fine. However, when I rotate the view to landscape-only or portrait-only orientation, the view loads incorrectly. The view is scrolling off screen.
I ran the app in the Xcode debug window and I saw that the MainViewController was loading a nib file when I called initWithNibName:. The next problem is that it was doing so in the app delegate. I don’t think it should be doing that. I thought it should be doing it in the ViewController, but I switched it there and it still was going in the AppDelegate. This is where I am confused, but I think I’ve narrowed it down to a compile time error.
