As a result of modification of the privacy settings, the widget was removed in version 3.0.9.
There are many sites for widget creation. Some of them require the user to learn “how to code” which can be intimidating for a beginning user.
We have created a program called Google Widget Maker which has built in features that allow you to create your own widgets. The program comes packaged with a few widgets that you can customize as you see fit.
But a widget can be as simple or complex as you need it to be. To use this program you must have access to a “Google account”.
Once you have one, go to the Google Widget Maker icon on your taskbar or desktop and click the “Add new widget” icon. Once you do this, you will be prompted to either type in a website or select a link, or you can create your own custom URL.
Once you enter the URL and click continue, you will then be presented with a small area where you can customize the text, size, location, colors and how many times the link will repeat.
There are two buttons at the top of this page. The first button will allow you to choose a “trigger” or “on mouse over”. This will allow you to show the widget only on mouse over.
When you are done modifying, you can click the “Continue” button to add the widget to your desktop. You will then be asked to select the destination folder of your widget.
Now that you have added your widget, you can start using it. Simply right-click anywhere on your desktop and it will popup.
